Departure from Marrakech at 8am from the riad or hotel to cross the Atlas Mountains.

You will be able to enjoy the spectacular scenery of winding roads and the changing colours as we travel over the mountains.Seeing shepherds with their flocks, Berber villages high up in the hills make this tour a picturesque journey. When we reach Tizi n’Tichka (2260 metres) we will be at the highest point of the High Atlas Mountains. You will be able to contemplate and observe at this altitude how the landscape changes drastically, becoming semi-arid and deserted.

We will find the Kasbah with their built houses and towers, adorned with bars on the windows and peach-coloured walls. These traditional houses are made of adobe (mud), very suitable for the climatic conditions of southern Morocco. We will pass by the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. Stop for lunch. The afternoon will be devoted to exploring this Kasbah, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. This magnificent sand castle was eventually used as a backdrop for more than 20 films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy, The Gladiator, among others. This Kasbah is a unique example of the intact architecture of southern Morocco. It was one of the most important strongholds for the caravans that came from the Sahara desert to Marrakech and other cities and where traders brought slaves, gold, ivory and salt.
